A little update

So basically summer hit and we are doing a bunch of traveling to MD and the beach, and when we are home it's daily stuff like laundry and grocery shopping so I haven't been on the computer much at all.   I do catch up daily on the ipad but that thing is horrible for updating this blog.  I am just so rarely on the "Mama" computer as I call it :) I have a TON of photos on my phone, itouch, and camera that are screaming to be uploaded and I promise I will try to get to it this week. 

Nothing too terribly interesting is going on.  On July 2nd we travel to MD for a week in Ocean City with my Dad and his family. Should be interesting as Sarah has a cousin who is the same age as her and two toddlers in a rented house is a recipe for interesting times. 

Sarah is a total water baby though. She LOVES the ocean and the first time she saw it this year (last week at Myrtle) she went right up to the waves and walked in and kept walking. No fear at all!   I have a huge bag of shells she collected too.  I guess she thought it was Easter all over again. :) I am thinking of putting her in a swimming class but not sure.  There are so many things I want to do with her and I can't decide.  Unfortunately there aren't enough funds to do everything LOL

I'll come back and update a bit more later on.  It's 12.30am here and I still have a horribly messy kitchen sink to clean up before I head up to bed. Night!

Strawberry picking (May 19, 2011)

Bryce's Dad came down for a week long visit in May during Bryce's birthday. It was mostly a relaxing visit with no real entertaining going on. We did things like go to the park and hit up Marbles Kids museum but nothing else really. Bryce wanted to go somewhere for his birthday so we chose strawberry picking at a patch close to a lake he takes his boat to.  We had a great time. Sarah especially loved squishing the berries in between her fingers :)

April Recap



Palm Sunday


My parents came down for the Easter holiday. It was prob one of the best Easters I can remember.  So nice not to have to run around to 3 different houses like we used to up in MD.   After church (I didn't get a pic in Sarah's Easter dress boooo) we put her down for a nap and got everything ready for the hunt and dying eggs (which didn't go too well).  Then we all sat down to a fantastic meal where my picky eater child ate all her carrots!  Funny that eating her veggies is what stick out in my mind right? LOL

I attended a wedding at the end of the month.  :)  Woke up at the crack of dawn to see this thing.  I am so hooked on the Royals. They are my guilty pleasure.




Taking advantage of the sitter services of my parents and went on a date night! Don't I look hawt?  LOL



Battleship Reunion April 6-10, 2011

Bryce's grandfather served in WWII on a battleship called the USS North Carolina which is now located in Wilmington, NC.  Every year all the old vets get together for a reunion. Bryce is a big WWII buff so we have been going for about 5 years now. It's actually pretty fun. Like a big family reunion. Lots of old guys flirting with the younger ladies and telling some awesome stories.  It's also really sad as many that we have become friends with (and even facebook with) are passing away. This year Bryce's own grandfather wasn't able to go at the last minute.  He had a stay in the hospital back in FL but is "ok" now.  He told us to go ahead with our trip so we went.  It was fun but something was different.  I mean... along with all the fun we had it just was...well... depressing too.  It's like losing one or two of your granddad's each year. 

It was great to see them all with Sarah though. She was the youngest by far and somewhere along the way my 17 month old learned how to flirt.  :) And I absolutely love Wilmington!  This was the first year we had significant down time and we were able to shop, enjoy the Azalea Festival that was going on, and hit up a local park for the Kiddo.   I kept seeing little romantic restaurants I wanted to try but alas, life with a toddler doesn't allow for restaurants that aren't chain LOL I told Bryce that we need to come back for a night and have my mom watch Sarah.
